Your truck doesn't have to be the newest one in the parking lot. It just has to get you and your people to the good stuff. The early ride, the dirt-road turnoff, the afternoon you meant to spend doing something productive and spent outside instead.
A tailgate bike pad should feel at home on that truck. Not like something you have to fight with before every ride. That's the idea behind our Basecamp 3.0: gear that belongs in your setup, starting with the right fit.
- Start your tailgate bike pad search with your truck’s year, make and model.
- Basecamp 3.0 has a removable camera window; check the view with your bikes loaded too.
- Have a cover, rack or unusual tailgate? Send us the details before choosing your setup.
Your truck. Your setup.
A truck says a lot about how you get outside. Maybe yours has a bed rack and camping gear that never quite makes it back into the garage. Maybe it's the family truck, doing school pickup during the week and carrying bikes on Saturday. Neither needs to look like someone else's idea of the perfect adventure rig.
The same goes for the pad. We want it to sit right, let you get to the handle, and work with the truck you already own. Looking good is part of it. Being able to use your tailgate without a wrestling match matters more.
Start with your truck's year, make and model in our fit selector. It sounds simple because it is. Those details are more useful than “it's a big truck,” especially when a model has changed over the years.
If you've got a cover, shell or rack, tell us about that too. Basecamp is designed to work with most tonneau covers and truck shells, but we'd rather talk through your particular setup than have you guessing in the driveway.
The little things are part of the ride
Nobody heads out excited to think about a tailgate handle. But when you're holding a bike and trying to get everything loaded, access suddenly matters.
So does the camera. Basecamp 3.0 has a removable backup-camera window, letting you open up that part of the pad when you need it. Check the view once it's installed, then again with the bikes on. A wheel sitting in front of the camera doesn't care how well the pad fits.
Get the pad sitting correctly before adding the bikes. Follow the installation instructions, keep the straps snug rather than cranking them down, and check that the tailgate opens and closes normally. Then load your bikes and look at where they rest and how they're secured.
Nothing glamorous there. Just a few minutes spent getting the setup right before the part you're actually looking forward to.
We're here for that part, too
We're a small Utah crew, and our story starts with the people around the tailgate, not a perfect truck parked somewhere nobody can reach.
That's why fit matters to us. The gear should make sense for your day, whether you're squeezing in a ride before work or leaving the weekend open to whatever happens next.
Not sure about your truck? Send us the year, make and model, a couple of tailgate photos, and the details of anything else you've added. You can reach us at support@trustcache.com. We'd rather help you figure it out than leave you comparing photos and hoping for the best.
Get your setup sorted. Bring your people. Go make a day of it.
See you at the tailgate.
A few fit questions
