The Basecamp System comes with two Lounger chairs and a Jeffrey cooler. These can all be placed, to your liking, onto the Basecamp pad using its patented integrated molle webbing system.

03Payload Strap

The Basecamp pad features an adjustable payload strap that turns your tailgate into an anchor point. Tie-down bikes, surfboards, and anything else that sticks out of your tailgate.

Make want to be outside even more!

I was super excited to receive this package. Once it actually came and I was able to use it I was more than impressed. The lock is durable and sturdy for one. Also, the material seems durable and doesn’t look cheap. I took my truck out on a drive around Mammoth last weekend and some lunch break dirt-roads and have found good reason to stop and take in the sunshine on my tailgate. There are plenty of straps and room for an additional chair if purchased. The cooler stayed cold for at least 6 hrs in the sun. I recommend buying this system if you like being outdoors and enjoying nature.

    About time

Finally a functioning all purpose tailgate cover. Just put it on my badass truck and it’s totally worthy! Construction is seconded to none. This is a well thought out solution. Well done Cache!!

    2018 F 150 - works great!

This is my favorite purchase of summer. 100%! Love MTB’ing with it – can fit 5 bikes. Hold all of the drinks for the friends and provide a chill spot after the rides. Also, nice to pop off the seats and cooler when we’re heading to any type of concert or event.

    First tailgate pad for Skiing?

With snow coming down and bike season coming to an end I thought about taking the pad off my truck. But we usually BBQ in the parking lot with lawn chairs out. Rather than taking the pad off I’m going to leave it on and use the chairs and cooler on for post ski apres. The strap used to secure bikes will also secure skis rather than letting them slide around in the truck bed (put your skis in the bed and rest the tips over the back of the tailgate – use the strap and webbing to tighten them down).

    Tailgate pad for construction

My wife bought me this for riding bikes with my buddies on the weekend. I actually use it for construction as much if not more. The strap for securing bikes works great for securing lumber – fence posts – PVC you name it. I was taking the chairs off but ended up leaving them on for hurry up and wait jobs killing time. The cooler is out of the way and easy for post work beers or kids gatorades on Saturday soccer games.

    Best Tailgate Pad Out There

I don’t usually write review but this is hands down the best tailgate pad out there. So far I’ve had and trashed pads from Dakine, Yakima, Thule, and Raceface. Each had their own problems from not fitting tailgates, to construction and longevity. This pad is the best fitting and we’ll thought out pad I’ve used. So far it’s been on mid size and full size trucks. Been used with camper shells and tonneau covers. I’ve carried 5 bikes with enough room for a 6th.

The pad’s covering down the back make it easier on the knees than most trucks plastic liners to crawl in and out of the bed. The stitched lip on the pad allows it to curve down on a tailgates hard edge instead of roll over it. The tailgate latch opening is large enough to not cover backup cameras. The lock and cable are well designed and discreet. The bike securing strap is long enough to be used securing multiple bikes, lumber, surfboards etc is more useful than individual bike straps which only serve one purpose and get tedious with multiple bikes.

At first I didn’t buy into the seats and cooler as I thought they were a gimmick… Totally wrong. The seats get used daily from waiting at trailheads to tailgating on weekends. Really well constructed and comfortable. The cooler is the same story. It’s much easier to drop an ice block in and 6 pack than trying to lug my yeti to the truck.

    Tips I figured out:
At first my chairs and cooler seemed loose. I figured out if you connect the chairs hooks to the webbing on the furthest outside attachment point it’ll stay taut and give you room in the center for the cooler. ie left chair’s left hooks attach to the far left webbing. It’s right hooks get pulled under the chair to the farthest left attachment point I can hook. The coolers hooks then have enough room to spread left and right keeping it taut.

Secondly if you use a camper shell the bike securing strap can hold your back window down taking the stress off your back windows prop arms while on dirt roads or the highway.

Best Tailgate system and pad ever made!

The Cache system is awesome for many reason. I own a F150 XLT and it fits like a premium suede glove. Install was super easy and quick. I leave it on most of the time, but if i need to remove it, it takes 2 minutes. The Basecamp pad fits really well over the tailgate, even if I have a wide gate with camera and handle.

Last weekend, I put 6 bikes over the pad and secured them with the included strap/hooks. This is a really nice feature included with the pad. No need to store an extra strap or bungee cords. I would add a latch buckle to it to make it 120% perfect. The pad is also super durable – I’ve used it many times with lumber and it does not scratch at all.

I also love the Jeffrey cooler – it’s my new favourite carry-on. I take it everywhere with me. And the Lounger chairs are making many people jealous! Much more comfortable than a cold and wet metal tailgate!

    Great Company, Great Product

I received the Basecamp System as a gift from my girlfriend. I love it. After a slight delay, when my girlfriend’s cat decided that the box looked like a good place to rest. The installation was super easy, and the tutorial video answered any questions I had. The loungers are sturdy enough to hold my entire weight when I lean back and comfortable, even for bigger guys and gals.
The molly system holds everything secure even at highway speeds; actually even at well above highway speeds. While the Jeffrey Cooler holds a ton of stuff and is easy to access from the Lounger Chairs.

The only downside is that the chairs are black, so they will get hot in direct sunlight, but if you remember to keep them closed when you aren’t sitting on them, they should stay cooler. I’m also thinking about getting a pop up tent to cover the bed when I’m tailgating. The cargo strap works well and it sits in just the right place on my 2012 F-150. There will be some slack on the straps that hold the Base Pad on, but you can easily tie them up or tuck them away.

Now since I got this as a gift, I’ll have to take my girlfriend’s word of it, but according to her, whenever she had a question about the system the response from the company was superb.

I would definitely recommend this to anyone who tailgates or who would like to have the extra tie down points.

    Great system great quality

My brother bought this for me as a gift. Best gift ever! The tailgate is completely protected if I put bikes over it for travel. I like being able to lock the bikes to the tailgate pad , basically to the tailgate itself. I have season football tickets and we tailgate before home games. This works awesome it’s a couple extra seats and a cooler to keep the sodas cold. Best part you take the seats off the tailgate and you have plush seats and “your own space” for those who know how crowded and uncomfortable bench seats are. All in all it’s been a great system and being from Utah it’s nice to support local business. Can’t wait to see what comes next for this system.

    Delivered on expectations

When I first saw this concept I knew I needed it for tailgating and camping, but have used it constantly. It’s a quick tie-down option for the bikes. It’s great protection and another anchor point for hauling lumber.

    Excellent product!

This system was well worth the wait. I am blown away by the quality and attention to detail. It exceeds my expectations. A few friends have other brands and they are far inferior. That’s why I didn’t buy another brand. It was a blast going through the design and build process with the brothers, and their story makes owning this even better. I highly recommend this system to everyone. The tailgate cover is highly padded, secure and protective; the seats are comfortable on the tailgate and off; the cooler is the perfect size and I also use it when kayak fishing. It holds ice for a reasonable amount of time, even here in south Texas.

    Exceptional Customer Service

The level of customer service this company exhibits is unprecedented. I have yet to experience this level of service from other businesses. Products are well made and thoughtfully engineered and the customer service makes you feel like a member of a community instead of just another sale. They did right by me and I’ll continue to support them as they release new products in the future.

    Works and Looks Great!

We put the Basecamp on our Chevy Silverado and just like that we had a super functional bike pad (no more clumsy rack or saggy, faded, typical bike pad for us!!) and protection when we haul stuff. And… it looks Great!! Can’t wIt to do a little apres ski tailgating this winter!! 🎿

    Great modular system!

I love that the system is so flexible. I can set up two chairs, or I can set one up and have room for my scuba equipment next to me. The system is so easy to configure. Dillon and team have excellent customer service as well!

    Great idea!

Over the past three years I have gone through two of the traditional bike pads that no matter what the brand, it appears that they are all made the same. After catching word of Cache and their modular system – I made the switch and never looking back! Love the chairs, cooler, and the lock is genius! Big fan of the opening and how my bike doesn’t hit my truck all while keeping my backup camera clear as well.

The most fully functional tailgate system on the market

A great upgrade to that ‘Bike Pad’ you might be looking at.
Access to the tailgate release is great compared to the ‘other pads’ and having the molle straps comes in handy when tying down a bike

Just be aware that this may not fit with all your accessories as every truck bed and tailgate is different. In my case, it interfered with the Extang hard cover I had. It locked but was pushed up. Removing the optional tie down strap (and tossing it in the Jeffrey for safe keeping) allowed it to close properly.

Looks great and the seats are comfy. Jeffrey cooler keeps drinks cool and have plenty of space.

The coolest accessory on my truck

This thing is LEGIT! So much fun and opens up a lot of room for other items. Love being able to throw my groceries in the cooler and not have them slide all around. Also, works great for 5 bikes and I can even lock them up by running a cable lock through the carabinir and the down tube or wheels on the bikes. Stoked!
