The Basecamp System 2.0

I saw the ad a bunch of times for this system and was hesitant to pull the trigger and buy it. however I am 100% glad I did. shipping was super fast to get it out to me and it was easy to install. One thing i noticed is there is a bit of a wave if you install it on a newer tailgate that kind of sticks out. The heat will help mold it to it so it just takes a little bit of patience. I saw the new install video that was released and it was mentioned on there as well so bonus points for that. the chairs have thick padding so a heavier guy like myself (245 lbs) can sit comfortably. The cooler is constructed well with quality liner so i can tell that it will keep things cold for a long time. other than that, product works great and it holds my bikes in place well with no movement. I highly recommend this as the last tailgate pad you would ever need to buy. One last thing to mention. I had a bit of an issue after installing my product (not related to the product itself but rather outside circumstances) and I called them up. I spoke to a person right away and he took care of me. Customer service is such a huge thing and the fact that they took care of me like this speaks so highly of what they do and the product they stand behind.

Genuinely fantastic product. Everything is usable and quality. Easy to install, and fantastic setup / fit with it all loaded up.

The thick and durable pad can be used to protect the tailgate when using bikes, though is also setup to strap down anything long resting on the tailgate such as a ladder. The seats can be placed in any position along the tailgate when it is down (together or at the ends) and also turned around if others are sitting in the truck while hanging out. I look forward to watching many sunsets on these seats on this tailgate cover!

I’ve had this for about a year and it’s held up well. I have a 2012 Nissan Frontier it’s a little long but overall great fit. I work construction and use the pad to carry material all the time. Convinced several of my friends to get one and it’s a great hang out spot after biking. Or even grabbing lunch while on the job.

Went on a bike trip to Moab and when we got there one of ours seats was missing off the back of the tailgate. :(. I emailed these guys and they were great! They replaced the seat (which is amazing…wasn’t their fault at all) and also were open to suggestions from us about the system itself (we have a long bed Ford and wish it was wider for our big truck). What humility. To listen to people is exactly what is going to make this RAD product even better. We are loving the system and everyone thinks its so cool!!

This has been an amazing buy! My bikes are always secure and the seats are comfortable after a ride! I purchased the whole basecamp system and I couldn’t be happier! I broke a few clips and the team was quick to reply and get some sent out to me! Definitely worth every penny!

I’ve had 3 “bike pads” prior to purchasing the Cache Basecamp System and happy to report that these guys went above and beyond anything else on the market. I own a 2018 Ford F1-50 and it fits great & doesn’t block my backup camera. I had 4 bikes on here the other day and the chairs and cooler are perfect for post ride hang. Can’t wait to use this at the ski resort this ski season too!

Super happy with my Basecamp System, the pad fits great on my 2019 F150. Great product all around. The reason I’m leaving this here though is because of the customer service over at Cache. A few months after buying my pad one of the clips snapped. We reach out and they immediately dropped a replacement in the mail. When the package arrived torn to pieces by USPS and with no clips to be found, they drove the replacement over to my house. Great team over at Cache, I wouldn’t look anywhere else when it comes time for a new pad.

This works great with both my full suspension and fat bike. It was amazing to have for all the parking lot tailgating during the pandemic summer of 2020.

The pad is awesome! Materials are high quality, and fits great over my F-150 gate. The accessories are the bees knees as well. Whether we’re taking the kids on a ride, or just stopping to eat ice cream , the seats are super clutch.

This tailgate pad is amazing. Very high quality construction for the pad and accessories. Customer service is top notch, I needed the pad to replace my busted one for a camping/biking trip and they quickly fulfilled my order. Definitely an upgrade from the average tailgate pads.

Recently purchased the Cache basecamp tailgate pad Instead of another big brand tailgate pad again, and let me tell you it was the best decision I could make. Not only does it look amazing on my Silverado but the added features of the chairs and cooler are what sets it apart from anything on the market. The materials are durable and high end plus the bonus features of the molle and having a lock on it gives you peace of mind that it won’t be stolen. Took it to the trails a few times and every time I’ve been asked where I got it and if they can try out my chairs. I would highly recommend it to anyone and everyone.

Also Dilllon and the whole customer service team as a whole are top notch and very professional. Delivery was faster than expected coming from Utah to California.

I love all the options it gives me. Definitely not just for mountain biking.

I held out for a while trying to find the truck pad that stood out to me. I didn’t just want a black, thin pad that had a cheesy decal and crap straps that could be easily snipped off by a passer by that wanted the pad more than me. I wanted something durable, that allowed use of my rear camera, that protected my tailgate, with a good securing system that held my bike tight. I came across Cache, and the Basecamp System and my decision was instantly made for me. This thing is awesome! I feel like I stole the thing **sorry guys** for what you pay you get a super thick pad with water proof AND sun proof seats that are comfortable AND modular! Want to sit on the beach? Take your seat! Rock? Works there too! Tree stump around a fire after a long ride? Be the comfortable one! Want to sit on your tailgate and lean back with a cold one after a ride? THEY GAVE YOU A COOLER that fits a whole bag of ice and a 12 pack of whatever you want to quench your thirst with!

Long story short: it locks, it’s Super thick, comes with seats that are comfortable, it’s water proof and it comes with a cooler that turns into a removable bag (With strap) to bring your refreshments/food with you that also has built in cup holders while attached to your Tailgate.

Did I mention it comes with a built-in bottle opener?

Yep, it fits! Doing a little comparison between the Gladiator’s relatively narrow tailgate width and knowing the Basecamp fit a Tacoma and new Ranger, I took a gamble. Guess what, it paid off in spades! My Gator Green Gladiator turns heads at the trailhead from the front AND the back now. Just cinch the side straps a little tighter and you’ve got a glove-like fit on the Gladiator tailgate.

Excellent customer service. Quality product. Love the chairs because they remind of the old loung lizard chairs I used as kid. The pad itself is sturdy but not bulky. Several options for strapping down your bike. Love to see small companies doing there thing and doing the right way.

The design of this is brilliant. The Molle straps, the seats and the cooler are brilliant. It’s rugged material is definitely going to last. The security lock means that I can keep it on all the time and lock the bikes when I need that piece of mind. I’m so glad I took the time to find the right system and didn’t rush off and get whatever was on the store shelf. And what could possibly be more comfortable than a chair and a cold drink without having to get inside of my truck all dirty!

Fits like a glove and is incredibly versatile. Puerfect fishing pad! Putting on my waders and boots is a breeze and lunch breaks are way more comfortable.

I love that this pad isn’t just a fabric pad like most others. I know it will last long. The daisy chain attachments are nice to have, too!

I purchased this pad for my 2015 Chevy Silverado 1500. What drew me to it was the modular system. The setup is rad. Enjoying beverages post ride on the tailgate is the perfect ending to a ride. I use the backpack to haul any and all beverages now on road trips. Ice stays cold for a long time! The quality of the pad is much better than others I have used. The biggest selling point for me has been customer service. These guys are awesome and they have earned a loyal customer. Grab this pad and don’t think twice.

Cache tailgate pad is epic. Useful in all seasons if you’re not going to take it off in the winter. Seats come in handy far more of then than you would think if you’re hangin outside. Awesome for mid day breaks if you work outside. The boys definitely aren’t going to be mad you brought some beers after an ride either. I trust cache.

I am a huge fan of the Cache Basecamp System. I previously had a Yakima crash pad on my truck and I find the fit and quality to be night and day better. Further, the chairs work great and make the tailgate a very comfortable place to sit and have a drink after riding. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Not only is the product one of a kind but the customer service is top notch. I recommend this product for any outdoors individual. This product deserves 6 stars!

With snow coming down and bike season coming to an end I thought about taking the pad off my truck. But we usually BBQ in the parking lot with lawn chairs out. Rather than taking the pad off I’m going to leave it on and use the chairs and cooler on for post ski apres. The strap used to secure bikes will also secure skis rather than letting them slide around in the truck bed (put your skis in the bed and rest the tips over the back of the tailgate – use the strap and webbing to tighten them down).

I don’t usually write review but this is hands down the best tailgate pad out there. So far I’ve had and trashed pads from Dakine, Yakima, Thule, and Raceface. Each had their own problems from not fitting tailgates, to construction and longevity. This pad is the best fitting and we’ll thought out pad I’ve used. So far it’s been on mid size and full size trucks. Been used with camper shells and tonneau covers. I’ve carried 5 bikes with enough room for a 6th.

The pad’s covering down the back make it easier on the knees than most trucks plastic liners to crawl in and out of the bed. The stitched lip on the pad allows it to curve down on a tailgates hard edge instead of roll over it. The tailgate latch opening is large enough to not cover backup cameras. The lock and cable are well designed and discreet. The bike securing strap is long enough to be used securing multiple bikes, lumber, surfboards etc is more useful than individual bike straps which only serve one purpose and get tedious with multiple bikes.

At first I didn’t buy into the seats and cooler as I thought they were a gimmick… Totally wrong. The seats get used daily from waiting at trailheads to tailgating on weekends. Really well constructed and comfortable. The cooler is the same story. It’s much easier to drop an ice block in and 6 pack than trying to lug my yeti to the truck.

Tips I figured out:
At first my chairs and cooler seemed loose. I figured out if you connect the chairs hooks to the webbing on the furthest outside attachment point it’ll stay taut and give you room in the center for the cooler. ie left chair’s left hooks attach to the far left webbing. It’s right hooks get pulled under the chair to the farthest left attachment point I can hook. The coolers hooks then have enough room to spread left and right keeping it taut.

Secondly if you use a camper shell the bike securing strap can hold your back window down taking the stress off your back windows prop arms while on dirt roads or the highway.

My brother bought this for me as a gift. Best gift ever! The tailgate is completely protected if I put bikes over it for travel. I like being able to lock the bikes to the tailgate pad , basically to the tailgate itself. I have season football tickets and we tailgate before home games. This works awesome it’s a couple extra seats and a cooler to keep the sodas cold. Best part you take the seats off the tailgate and you have plush seats and “your own space” for those who know how crowded and uncomfortable bench seats are. All in all it’s been a great system and being from Utah it’s nice to support local business. Can’t wait to see what comes next for this system.

This system was well worth the wait. I am blown away by the quality and attention to detail. It exceeds my expectations. A few friends have other brands and they are far inferior. That’s why I didn’t buy another brand. It was a blast going through the design and build process with the brothers, and their story makes owning this even better. I highly recommend this system to everyone. The tailgate cover is highly padded, secure and protective; the seats are comfortable on the tailgate and off; the cooler is the perfect size and I also use it when kayak fishing. It holds ice for a reasonable amount of time, even here in south Texas.

We put the Basecamp on our Chevy Silverado and just like that we had a super functional bike pad (no more clumsy rack or saggy, faded, typical bike pad for us!!) and protection when we haul stuff. And… it looks Great!! Can’t wIt to do a little apres ski tailgating this winter!! 🎿

I love that the system is so flexible. I can set up two chairs, or I can set one up and have room for my scuba equipment next to me. The system is so easy to configure. Dillon and team have excellent customer service as well!

A great upgrade to that ‘Bike Pad’ you might be looking at.
Access to the tailgate release is great compared to the ‘other pads’ and having the molle straps comes in handy when tying down a bike

Just be aware that this may not fit with all your accessories as every truck bed and tailgate is different. In my case, it interfered with the Extang hard cover I had. It locked but was pushed up. Removing the optional tie down strap (and tossing it in the Jeffrey for safe keeping) allowed it to close properly.

Looks great and the seats are comfy. Jeffrey cooler keeps drinks cool and have plenty of space.
