Cache is heading to the Life Time Sea Otter Classic, and we couldn't be more fired up to be part of the event that officially kicks off the cycling season every year!
If you aren't familiar with the Sea Otter Classic, it's kind of the place to be for cyclists of all kinds. You have the rolling coastal hills outside Monterey, the salt air rolling off the Pacific, over ten thousand athletes, and more than a thousand bike brands all converging at the WeatherTech Laguna Seca Raceway for four days of fun. It's been running since 1991 and is widely regarded as the world's largest cycling festival, drawing nearly 10,000 professional and amateur athletes and over 74,000 fans.
For us at Cache, going to Sea Otter isn't just about showing up, it's about connecting with a community that lives and breathes cycling the same way we do. We'll be on the ground all four days, soaking it all in alongside riders, racers, industry legends, and fans from around the world. Come find us at booth #Y32!
What Happens at Sea Otter?
Sea Otter is built around three things: Race, Ride, and Demo, meaning there is something for every cyclist, regardless of your level! If you want to compete, there are 14 race categories spanning gravel, mountain, downhill, dual slalom, circuit racing, and more. Not racing? The untimed recreational rides let you take in the stunning coastal scenery without a clock ticking. Routes include a 50-mile Coastal Gran Fondo and a 95-mile tour through the agricultural fields and vineyards of the Salinas Valley.
Then there's the Expo, arguably the crown jewel of the whole weekend. The Sea Otter Expo comes alive with hundreds of exhibitors displaying new products, offering free bike demos, and exciting stunt shows. With 1,000+ brands on the floor, you can test ride the latest gear, talk shop with engineers, and get up-close access to the pros who ride it at the elite level. No other event gives you this kind of premium access to your favorite brands.
If you're bringing the family, children 12 and under get a free Festival Pass and can compete in kids' races, ride a pump track, enjoy carnival games, and take part in the annual egg hunt hosted by Skipper the Sea Otter. There's also an international food court, the Sierra Nevada beer garden, and plenty of space to kick back and take it all in. So, in short, there truly is something for everyone, so get ready for a jam-packed weekend of fun and community!
