The Event
In early September, Cache proudly sponsored a hole at the Ski Utah golf tournament. It was a lovely early-autumn day at Mountain Dell Golf Course, and the leaves were just beginning to show their colors. For those who have never been, it’s a scenic fairway surrounded by the mountains of Parley’s Canyon. Nestled halfway between Salt Lake and Park City, the course is a favorite for many local golfers.

The Cache-sponsored hole at Mountain Dell Golf Course
We arrived early to set up our display. Ski Utah employees would come and go past our tent as they played the course. Obviously, we were offering drinks, snacks, and displaying our Basecamp products. Beyond that, to keep things interesting, Cache raised the stakes by setting up a small chipping competition. We told golfers: if you can chip the ball into this open cooler, it’s yours. Sounds easy, right? Well… the cooler was about 15 feet away, on a slight hill in between two large pines. Almost everyone attempted the shot, and by the end, we had two winners.
The Organization
By the end of the event, roughly 400 golfers had participated (including co-founders Dillon & Tyler Green who found time to play the green.) It was a blast to interact with everyone and see some epic attempts at winning a free cooler. Beyond offering the golfers a fun pit stop, we were honored to participate in the Ski Utah golf tournament because of personal ties to the organization. Co-founder Dillon has been a Ski Utah sponsored skier for several years and has thoroughly enjoyed working with them. They do important work to promote and unify the ski industry, assist with individual resort needs, and bring visitors to the state. Ski Utah continues to greatly impact local skiing year after year — an impact that we and many others are grateful for.
